 +(1) A synthetic triazole with antifungal activity. Voriconazole selectively inhibits 14-alpha-lanosterol demethylation in fungi, preventing the production of ergosterol, an essential constituent of the fungal cell [[membrane]],​ and resulting in fungal [[cell]] lysis. ​
  
 +(2) An antifungal type of [[antibiotic]]. It treats serious fungal infections found throughout the body. These infections include [[aspergillosis]],​ which is often found in the [[lung]], and other types of mold or yeast infections. Generic voriconazole tablets are not yet available.
